Dong Xuan District is located in the northwest of Phu Yen Province, about 45 km from Tuy Hoa City, with the following geographical location:
The East borders Song Cau Town and Tuy An District
The West borders Ia Pa District and Krong Pa District of Gia Lai Province
The South borders Son Hoa District
The North borders Van Canh District, Binh Dinh Province and Kong Chro District, Gia Lai Province.
Dong Xuan District has a natural area of 1,065.08 km², the largest district in Phu Yen Province. The population of the district is 65,300 people, the population density is 61 people/km².
Dong Xuan's terrain is relatively complex, gradually sloping from west to east with many mountain ranges and high peaks such as Chu Hrem (1,238 m), Rung Gia (1,108 m), La Hien (1,020 m)... In the district, there are Ky Lo, Co, Tra Buong rivers flowing through and Tra O, Triem Duc, Cay Vung hot mineral springs in Phu Mo commune.
